Chris Pyne - Our Leader!Chris is an awesome sax player, his virtuosity comes from a background of studying with some of the greatest saxophone players in the world and a career working as a freelance musician in many different situations before forming Pink Champagne with his wife Anne in 1988.Chris plays all the saxes, flute, clarinet and does vocals in the band. Anne Pyne - Keyboards, VocalsYes it's a family business! Anne studied piano at Guildhall School of Music, London and since graduating has been in demand constantly as a soloist and accompanist. In the band Annes technique comes through in powerful left hand boogie-woogie or driving salsa "montunos".Anne uses state of the art keyboards to provide the right sound in either band, or duo situations and also does background vocals. |

Ray Pawley - DrumsRay is an Army trained musician and has power and technique in buckets. It's amazing to hear him during the course of an evening go from whisper quiet brush work on a dinner jazz set, to pumping 90s dance grooves on a fully miked kit. Charlie Pyne - Bass, VocalsCharlie Pyne - another family member of course, Charlie has really been in the band all her life - currently studying double bass at the Guildhall School of Music in London, Charlie is completely at home in any style and provides a solid foundation for Pink Champagne. Mara Ashton - VocalsMara has been with the band for around thirteen years and the addition of her fabulous and unique voice marked a turning point for Pink Champagne. The most of flexible of singers, Mara combines theatre work in London with her commitments to Pink Champagne. Also look out for a soulful rendition of " Our Love Is Here To Stay" which the band recorded for an upcoming episode of the BBC drama series Down To Earth. Matt Watson - PercussionMatt is called in when we need an extra percussionist. His expertise on congas and timbales makes for a truly authentic sound on any Latin tune, and ensures that any other dance track is irresistible. He also runs a recording studio and recorded the tracks which you hear on this site. Members of the band are also involved in music education, from individual tuition to running large orchestras. Ask us about a tailor made workshop for your business or school - a fantastic team building exercise and great fun. |
